TEAMWORK'S purpose is to assist members in achieving goals aimed towards recovery. Learning new skills, making new friends, and experiencing opportunities for inclusion in community environments are important outcomes in rehabilitation at Teamworks. Among the activities offered at Teamworks are:

· Adult Literacy
· Community living skills
· Social and educational events in the community
· Wellness education and physical activities including the Laurel Hill Hiking Club
· Educational support groups including substance abuse meetings, men’s and women’s groups
· Employment opportunities
· Community and family education
· Adult education classes
· Supported education
· Recreational Opportunities
· Links to community resources

A holistic approach to physical health is essential to recovery and Teamworks offers a variety of opportunities to improve physical health. The Laurel Hill Hiking Club is an excellent example of the merging of community around a common cause. Some of the other activities offered at Teamworks are gardening, learning to plan and cook nutritious meals, men’s and women’s groups, anger management group, journaling, and working on-site with teachers from Norwich Adult Education.

Teamworks is continually working on community education and family relations. Teamworks will bring information to the community and guest speakers will be invited to provide information on a range of topics including health and symptom management, self-advocacy, and accessing community resources. Outreach efforts to support and/or engage individuals who are unable to attend Teamworks will also be provided. People referred for membership or who self-refer must be over the age of 18, have a mental health diagnosis, and desire to participate in Teamworks activities. hose accepted may retain that status for a lifetime, if they so desire.

At Teamworks, our focus is mental health, wellness, and recovery. We offer a variety of groups and opportunities for personal growth and discovery. We strive to provide a safe environment for people to try out new skills, to make friends, and to discover the resources available to them in their community. A monthly calendar listing all the groups and events is mailed to members and area providers.
