The RESPITE PROGRAM is a transitional housing option for adults who have experienced psychiatric disabilities. Our program provides short-term housing for people who are in need of respite from their current housing situation, are homeless, or transitioning from a higher level of care. Resources are available to promote a smooth transition into permanent housing.

Respite is staffed by one part-time Case Manager and therefore does not offer 24-hour supervised accommodations.

Criteria for admission to this program include:

· Guests must have a designated 24-hour emergency community contact person/case manager to assist them during their stay
· Guests must be capable of self-care skills and be clinically stable.
· Guests may not be under the influence of illegal drugs and/or alcohol at the time of their admission or at any time during their stay at Respite. If substance use is an identified issue for the guest, participation in some activities to prevent relapse must be part of the service plan prior to admission.
· Length of stay will not exceed two weeks. Guests must be actively involved in their discharge planning upon entry into the program.
· Guests must participate in purposeful activity during their stay.
· Rules that apply to the community at large also apply at Respite. Any guest who becomes involved in illegal activity will experience the same legal consequences as if they were in their own home.
