The EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM helps people achieve educational and training goals beyond high school (GED and high school level supports are also provided through Teamworks Clubhouse). We help people clarify and define their educational and career goals, choose an appropriate training program, and compensate for prior barriers to educational success. We assist people in the development of plans to suit the preferred learning environment and course of study of the individual. Options range from brief trade-specific or skill-specific training's to job shadowing/apprenticeships to four-year academic programs.

The Educational Program provides the following services for Reliance House members:

· Assessment of educational goals and strategies
· Link to learning disability and learning styles assessment
· Pre-classroom orientation and preparation
· Assistance with application and financial aid process
· Advice on course selection
· Advocacy for reasonable accommodations for disabilities
· Books, supplies, and transportation when needed
· Links to tutors and other educational supports
· Educational crisis management and advocacy
· Links to Vocational services
· Adult literacy; English for students of other languages

For those needing to complete their high school level of education, we offer individualized instruction and GED preparation by professionals from Norwich Adult Education.
