Community Outreach
The COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM is designed to focus on three aspects of society:
1. Individuals who might improve their quality of life by linking with mental health service.
2. Local business owners and employees.
3. Individuals who live in the Norwich area who are interested in becoming more educated about mental health and the services available in their community.
Services provided by the Community Outreach Program:
· Answer questions about Reliance House services
· Provide educational resources relating to mental health
· Develop a rapport with area merchants
· Offer a non-threatening arena to voice concerns or discord with regard to Reliance House service recipients
· Provide an attendant at community-based meetings
· Advocate for appropriate service links
· Furnish personalized support in a professional manner
· Promote a reduction in stigma in reference to mental health
· Work in collaboration with other community service providers
How are these services accessed?
Simply call Reliance House at (860) 887-6536 and ask for the Community Outreach liaison. If staff is unavailable, a confidential voice mail message can be left and your call will be returned promptly.
Is there a cost for this service?
There is no cost for this service. Reliance House, Inc. is a private, non-profit agency funded primarily by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Individuals who are provided with case management services must have a mental health diagnosis.
Goals of Community Outreach:
· Reduce stigma
· Provide educational materials specific to mental health
· Improve relations throughout our entire community
· Assist individuals in the community who are not linked to suitable mental health services
· Act as a link between Reliance House and the business merchants of Norwich
· Attend local meetings to develop a cooperative network treatment system
